SUMMARY:2025 - Oct 23 - Victim Advocacy Training - Working with Resistant or Reluctant Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:This will be held via Zoom. \n\n\n\nThis advanced session will guide advocates to dive deeper into the relationships that they have with social services and law enforcement alongside the families they serve in the advocacy role. We will discuss the implications\, and the intersectionality of the notorious systems labeled ‘non-compliant’ caregivers throughout a case and/or child maltreatment investigation. The training will share the advocacy perspective rooted in the work of Ellen Pence and the Advocacy Learning Center\, bridging grassroots work of domestic violence to the child advocacy center field. Participants will learn about how to better advocate for caregivers labeled as non-compliant\, resistive\, or reluctant. Trainers will facilitate discussion among participants designed to help shed light on the lived experiences of families of families and how they may present to multi-disciplinary professionals from a systems perspective.  \n\n\n\n\nRegister now for this event\n\n\n\n\n\n \n X/TwitterThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Phone(Required)Your CAC(Required)Your title(Required)Years in this position(Required)0-1 years2-5 years5-10 years10+ yearsSubscribe to Indiana Chapter email updates\n \n Yes\, subscribe me\n We send occasional emails about new practices\, upcoming events and trainings\, and more.\n Submit \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Δ

SUMMARY:2025 - June 12 - Human Trafficking presented by Zero Abuse Project
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a session on Human Trafficking\, presented by Zero Abuse Project! \n\n\n\nThere is an increased public awareness around the prevalence\, impact and salience of sex trafficking\, human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. When allegations of trafficking and exploitation are made known to law enforcement and social services\, the forensic interview process can be an effective tool for gathering victim statements and assessing what has occurred. This training will discuss the specifics of working with victims of trafficking and exploitation and offer guidance for conducting forensic interviews with this population. Moving cases from the investigation stage to prosecution is particularly difficult in the context of human trafficking\, and successful human trafficking investigations require a unique approach. This workshop also addresses potential avenues of corroboration\, technology-facilitated human trafficking\, proactive strategies\, and investigative resources.  \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives  \n\n\n\n\nDiscuss the prevalence\, dynamics and realities of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. \n\n\n\nProvide techniques and strategies for effectively interviewing victims of trafficking and exploitation\, through sample language and case examples. \n\n\n\nOffer guidance on how the MDT can best serve victims of trafficking and exploitation. \n\n\n\nList methods for proactively identifying possible instances of human trafficking in nearby jurisdictions. \n\n\n\nDescribe common repositories of corroborative evidence in human trafficking cases. \n\n\n\nSummarize effective partnership opportunities with service providers.\n\n\n\n\nThis will be held via zoom. A link will be provided as you register. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister now for this event
