Southwest Indiana CAC Coalition hiring a forensic interviewer

Position Title: Forensic Interviewer/ Administrative Assistant/ Advocate

Full-time positions available. Hourly position, pay based on experience.

Position Description:

Supports the mission of the organization to provide services and a safe reporting location for children reported to be victims of abuse. Provide clerical assistance and assist in the overall daily administration of the organization; to include inventory and maintenance of center, typing and filing of reports and correspondence, maintenance and input of database systems. Conducts highly specialized interviews of children reported to be victim of abuse, neglect, and/or witness to violent crimes.

Job Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handles difficult and complex cases which may require court testimony
  • Conducts structured interviews with victims of abuse or who have witnessed a violent crime
  • Works in a team capacity to ensure positive outcomes
  • Acts as an advocate to create/support high standards for child abuse investigations
  • Prepare, submit, track statistical information

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, no criminal history
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, be willing and able to drive throughout 7 county service area for interviews, meetings, hearings, and other business for the organization. Service area includes Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Martin, Orange, Perry, Spencer, and surrounding Counties. Main office located in Dubois County.
  • Certified, or ability to attend certification within 3 months, in forensic interviewing protocol

Heartford House CAC in Lafayette is hiring an Executive Director

BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the organization’s growth, accomplishments, and financial sustainability are aligned with its mission, vision, and strategic plan. The Executive Director will maintain positive relationships with staff, BOD, Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) and the agencies they represent, the Advisory Committee, current and potential donors, and the general public. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization in partnership with the Board of Directors (BOD). The Executive Director will actively pursue and successfully obtain new grants; developing new funding sources in an effort to provide ongoing unrestricted revenue streams; creating successful opportunities for cultivating current and new donor relationships and spearheading successful fundraising strategies, campaigns, and events.  The Executive Director will also be involved with Direct Services, as needed.

FINANCIAL

  • Ensuring financial stability, fiscal accountability, and overseeing the annual Audit process
  • Preparing the annual budget in conjunction with the Board Treasurer
  • Managing ongoing expenditures, approving organization invoices and staff reimbursements, and ensuring the accuracy of monthly financial, timecard, and payroll reports provided to our funders and Board Treasurer.

*FUNDRAISING

  • Grant writing and fund development experience strongly preferred. 
  • Ensuring applications are accurately completed, reviewed by a BOD designee, and submitted on time for all funding sources, including but not limited to Department of Child Services (DSC) contracts, Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) – Indiana Criminal Justice Institute grants, United Way grants (Tippecanoe, Clinton, Carroll, White counties), National Children’s Alliance (NCA) grants, Marquis Foundation grants, etc
  • Completing required, time-sensitive Outcome Measurement System (OMS) statistics for funders and/or Board, grant/contract funding reports, and funder reimbursement invoices  
  • Actively pursuing and obtaining new grants; developing new funding sources in an effort to provide ongoing, sustainable and unrestricted revenue streams; creating opportunities and successful strategies for fundraising events
  • Writing (and/or supervising the writing) and submission of annual grant applications; completing grant reporting requirements in a timely manner and attending grant training as needed
  • Networking and rapport building with community stakeholders, focusing primarily on increasing awareness of Heartford House in the communities we serve and identifying and cultivating potential donors
  • Aiding in the development of marketing materials used to raise awareness, educate the public, and/or provide opportunities for fundraising
  • Participating in design, planning and implementation of all internal fundraising efforts, including but not limited to our annual fundraiser, Stand Up for Kids
  • Conducting regular audits of NCAtrak (client database) to review input accuracy, ensuring correctness of data reported to funders and Board   
  • Overseeing Donor Management System (Network for Good) and ensuring accuracy of data entry

 DIRECT SERVICES

  • Must be proficient in stepping into any direct service role provided by Heartford House (Forensic Interviewer (FI), Advocate (AD), or Prevention Presenter) as detailed in separate job descriptions or Memorandums of Understanding (MOU); assuming the responsibilities detailed in those job descriptions; deferring to the FI, AD, or Presenter considered to be the Heartford House expert for feedback and advice on improving skills needed for these roles 

MDT FACILITATION

  • Aiding leadership staff in establishing credibility, fostering a success-oriented environment, in an effort to develop and maintain successful, cohesive MDT’s in the counties served (Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Warren, White)
  • Reviewing OMS survey results to ensure clients and MDTs are satisfied with services

LEADERSHIP

  • Supervising leadership staff, evaluating leadership job performance annually, or as needed
  • Facilitating and/or attending leadership and staff meetings; participating in staff and MDT functions
  • Ensuring direct service staff have adequate training, resources, and support needed to succeed; advocating for direct service staff with BOD when necessary

BOARD REPORTING

  • Participating in all BOD meetings, Strategic Planning sessions, and assigned committees as needed
  • Submitting monthly Executive Director Reports to BOD, in form and substance, required by Board Chair
  • Creating Board Meeting Agenda and providing Board packets to Board Members in a timely fashion

OTHER

  • Following all grant funding guidelines and expectations required of position
  • Other duties as assigned by the BOD

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree. Previous professional experience working with children and families is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to work independently, or creatively as part of a cooperative and coordinated team, capable of working with a variety of people, including children and their families, professionals from the MDTs and their agency employees, education personnel, current and potential donors and funding representatives and accept guidance and direction from the Board of Directors

  • Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight, coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to record, prepare and communicate reports and operate office equipment

Comfort House CAC in Corydon is hiring a forensic interviewer

The Forensic Interviewer will be responsible for supporting the overall operation of the forensic interviews. The Forensic Interviewer is responsible for the provision of forensically sound interviews. This position will include participation on the multidisciplinary team as a Forensic Interviewer.

Responsibilities

A. Forensic Interviews

  • Prepares interview facility for interview.
  • Accepts referral information and prepares client interview file. 
  • Conducts forensic interviews according to established protocol.
  • Responds to subpoenas and testifies when requested.
  • Participates in peer review, professional development, and on-going training.
  • Provides day to day administrative duties of forensic interviewing.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team case review.

B.  Other Responsibilities

  • Participates in local domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse tasks forces.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Trained in a nationally recognized forensic interviewing protocol – will be trained if candidate has not already completed the program.
  • Prior experience working with children and families where abuse has been identified.
  • Prior experience working with the criminal justice or child welfare system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with computers and common software programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with a cross section of the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work under pressure, manage deadlines, maintain accountability, and work independently and creatively as part of a cooperative and coordinated team.
  • Must be responsible, dependable, well-organized, logical and have high integrity.
