Core Victim Advocacy Training

April 29 @ 9:00 am 4:30 pm Central Time

First Witness Victim Advocacy Training
April 29, May 1, May 3

This 24 hour training runs from 9am-4:30pm CT each day and is a virtual training at no cost to attendee.  There is prereading required to attend this course.

Victim advocates associated with Children’s Advocacy Centers, including Victim Assistance professionals from Prosecutors Offices are welcome to register.

This training meets all essential components in the 2023 National Children’s Alliance (NCA) Standard of Victim Advocacy.

First Witness Child Advocacy Center’s advocacy program bridges the gap between individual advocacy with one victim and system-based advocacy that creates change for many victims.

Through hands-on practice, participants will learn how to put advocacy principles into action, including: conducting a focus group to improve programming, changing organizations and systems and creating programs and interventions that meet victims’ needs.

Participants practice skills for effective crisis intervention and advocacy, problem solving and decision making around the toughest issues in advocacy work.
