The Indiana Chapter of National Children’s Alliance Board of Directors is thrilled to introduce Kim Olesker as the Chapter’s new Executive Director, effective January 1, 2026. Olesker began working with the Chapter on September 20, 2025 for a transition period through the end of 2025. Her hiring comes as founding Chapter Director Jan Lutz retires after 30 years of service to CACs, kids, and families across Indiana.
“Jan is very nearly irreplaceable,” says Chapter Board President Emily Perry. “Her retirement is bittersweet for all of us because we have come to lean on and rely on Jan for so much. Kim has a lot of work ahead of her. We’re excited to have her pick up where Jan leaves off.”
Olesker joins the Chapter as a part-time Executive Director. A resident of Michigan City, Indiana, she has a strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising, and child welfare.
“My first experience with kids in my career was volunteering with the Child Saving Institute, supporting children entering foster care in Nebraska decades ago,” says Olesker. “My career has included managing events and relationships at the American Cancer Society and the United Way.” At the United Way, Olesker helped shepherd a strong On My Way Pre-K program in Indiana. Most recently, she has helped develop Alpha Kappa Psi’s fundraising program.
“All of us within the Chapter have a lot to do in the near future,” says Board President Perry. “Legislation, funding, growth, sustainability, and best practices for preventing child abuse and supporting child victims of crime remain top issues for the Chapter. Kim is the right person for the job ahead.”
“I’m deeply drawn to the mission-driven work of the Chapter,” says Olesker. “Protecting vulnerable Hoosier children has long been my calling. As I’m meeting with CACs around Indiana, I see the work they have done with Jan and the Indiana Chapter. This work is not easy, but when you surround yourself with strong and dedicated people like we have here in Indiana, you never walk alone. I look forward to supporting their continued success across the state.”
